Our Story

WELLHOUSE farm and forage plants locally to make small batch herbal skincare and crafted accessories. Harvested, processed and made at home, our simple formulas have no harsh or synthetic ingredients and deliver healing herbs to your skin in a safe and gentle yet impactful way.

WellHouse handcrafted herbal oils are potent, full spectrum plant extracts that can be used to make your own herbal remedies or add to your existing skin and self care routine.  These oils are also the base for a range of simply formulated, all natural, butters and serums.  Hand printed, plant dyed boxes, bags and special gift packs and custom made orders are available on request. 

At WellHouse we like to work with all the plants through their whole life cycle.  95% of the herbs we use in our topical infusions have either been cultivated on our homestead or foraged from our 'back yard' forest.  We mainly grow from seed and visit the forest almost daily throughout all seasons to watch for how and where our foraged plants grow - so we can harvest them at the best times for their optimum properties in the most sustainable way possible.

We then dry, cure and infuse small batches of the hand harvested plants into organics carrier oils with intention of harnessing the power of each plant in its own right. These single oils then provide a strong base available to you, and to us, for creating custom salves, serums and other topical remedies.

The method used extracts both the oil-soluble and alcohol-soluble* compounds of the plants.  It is a labor-intensive extraction method that results in a balanced and holistic safe end product.  *A very small amount of grain alcohol is used but is fully evaporated via the extraction process.

Our oils are dense, complex and color intense.  The fragrance is quite different in comparison to what you would experience form an essential oil.  Some are understated with just an aromatic hint of the garden or forest they grew up in.  Others have layers and notes that work with your personal body chemistry and really come to life just when you most need them the most.

WellHouse was born out of a passion of healing and stewarding land.  We believe that happy healthy soil = happy healthy plants = happy healthy people!  Our journey of working with the soil started from when we met in Colorado - with a focus on restoring soil health and creating an optimal and fertile environment for plants to thrive.

WellHouse Micro Farm is our little homestead nestled at the base of a PNW forest in Adna, WA.  We are first generation micro farmers using regenerative, sustainable cultivation practices to grow all our food and medicine.  We are also fortunate to have a relatively untouched forest for all our foraging needs, just a stone’s throw from our home.

We have many plans for future farm offerings and are at the beginning of our journey to start sharing these outside our own personal practices.  Watch this space!

 

*Please note that these products are not essential oils.  The plant has already been infused into a carrier oil so while you can add these to other oils, it is not necessary.
